Vinnie Paul was born Vincent Paul Abbott on Mark 11th 1964 in Abilene, Texas.
His father Jerry and his brother Darrell were also musicians. Vinnie wanted to play the tuba originally but his father convinced him to play drums.
The brothers formed the band Pantera and would record 9 albums.
After the breakup of Pantera, the bothers would form a new metal group, Damageplan.
Damageplan played their final gig on December 8th 2004 when Darrell and other crew members were shot on stage.
Vinnie would eventually play drums with the supergroup Hellyeah. The band released 6 albums, with the last one released after his death.
Vinnie would die on June 22nd 2018 due to heart issues.
